Escape
Thud! Thud! Thud! Charlotte ran as fast as she could with her parents and best friend hot on her tail. They were running away from the Egyptians who were keeping them captive as slaves. They had to give the Pharaoh fruit and water, but they did not get anything like that, just bread and cheese for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They were planning their escape for weeks and this morning they had finally tried to escape. They had succeeded of what was thought impossible and was now running from the Egyptians, who were on camels. Charlottes Mum is called Cecily, Dad is called Rob, best friend called James and they were all running as if their lives depended on it. Suddenly, they came upon a wall and this was no ordinary wall it was the wall that tells you that you are about to enter the Sahara Desert. All four of them knew that if they wanted to escape then they had to travel across the longest Desert in the world…
“Come on it can’t be that bad,” said James.
“What are you talking about? The Sahara Desert is that bad, but I guess it is the only way to escape so let us go,” replied Charlotte uncertainly. With Charlotte leading the way the rest followed obediently into the sweltering heat of the mighty Desert. Once the Egyptians saw that the escapees had walked into the Sahara then they knew that that was a suicide trip as they had no water, camels or food. So, they turned back towards their home to tell the Pharaoh what had happened. Meanwhile the group of four were struggling against the strength of the Desert and were beginning to grow more thirsty and hungrier. They were starting to lose hope that they would survive the trip across this devilish Desert. Day turned into night and bags were starting to form under the escapee’s eyes. Cecily knew they had to have a break, so she said, “We have to have a break.” The others agreed so they settled in for a night’s sleep, but little did they know that someone was watching them.
The next morning, they all woke up slowly as they had had a bad night’s sleep and started again on their perilous journey crossing the Desert. They travelled for what seemed like hours but must have just been minutes and then they could no longer go any further than where they were as they were too thirsty and had to have a lie down. Charlotte started to doze off and the others followed her lead and dozed off as well. They were all going to die on the Sahara Desert a terrible way to go.
When they woke up again, they were not in the Desert they were in what looked like a village. Charlotte sat up quickly and asked them what she and the others were doing at this village. A man said they had saved them from certain death by taking them from the Deserts clutches. Then they gave Charlotte and the others water which they gulped down greedily. “What were you doing out on this Desert anyway,” questioned the man who gave them water.
“Well, it is a very long story but the short one is that we were captured by people who made us slaves and then we escaped onto the Sahara,” replied Rob. Then Charlotte added on that they were going to try and get everybody else who did not manage to escape, and they needed some help. The village immediately said yes as they had lost some people to the Egyptians as well. They were all going to need a plan to see this thought through.
They brain-stormed many ideas and finally managed to agree on this plan. Rob was going to pretend to be a guard and was going to create a prison riot and they would overthrow the Pharaoh and his people. Then with the help of the villages camels they would escape across the Sahara and into the Village. After that, everybody would go back towards their home village and live with their family for the rest of their lives. Everybody thought this was a brilliant idea and started dressing Rob in their best guard clothes. Then Rob and a camel travelled back towards the place where they were being kept as slaves. Their masterplan had started, the Pharaoh will never know what hit him.
Luckily, the guard team needed another guard as one had been fired for not realizing the prisoners had escaped. Rob was in the canteen and was telling the prisoners the truth about his identity and what he plans to do. The prisoners were desperate, so they agreed, and one prisoner started hitting another and the riot began. Prisoners through anything they could get their hands on and Rob and the others used the chaos everyone was creating to make their great escape. Before the guards had known what had happened, they were long gone in the village of where Charlotte, Cecily and James were waiting. It was the happiest ending for everyone (except the Pharaoh). THE END!!!!
